Our Absence Express service provides fast, focused occupational health support from the first day of absence, helping you intervene quickly, reduce the risk of long-term absence, and support employee recovery from the outset.
What Is Absence Express?
Absence Express is a rapid-response occupational health service designed to provide expert guidance within the first two weeks of an employee’s sickness absence. By offering early intervention, we aim to:
Prevent short-term absence from developing into long-term absence.
Identify any underlying issues contributing to the absence.
Offer timely recommendations or signpost to relevant support services.
Assist in planning for a swift and supported return to work.
This service is suitable for any absence from day one onwards, especially where early action could make a significant difference in the employee’s recovery and return.
Our Express Process
Our process is designed to be fast, supportive, and effective from the very beginning:
Referral
Managers can refer employees for an Absence Express consultation as early as the first day of absence, and up to two weeks into the sickness episode. Early referrals enable prompt support and reduce the likelihood of escalation.
Appointment
The consultation is scheduled within 1 working day of the referral, offering employees quick access to expert occupational health guidance.
Express Report
A tailored Absence Express Report is released to the employee within 1 working day of the consultation.
