Consultations are conducted by either a Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner or a Doctor, depending on the needs of the case.

What Are Telephone Consultations?

Telephone consultations allow employees to speak directly with an Occupational Health Clinician over the phone. This could be a Specialist Practitioner or a Doctor, depending on the clinical requirements. These remote assessments are ideal for discussing a wide range of workplace health concerns, including physical and mental wellbeing, absence management, and fitness for work.

Appropriateness of Referral

As an Employer, if you are unsure of the appropriateness of a Referral, you may wish to discuss this with one of our Senior Clinicians, using a Freephone Support Line, which is available to all Employers registered with us.

Referral

Employers can refer employees for a telephone consultation with full consent. Referrals often focus on sickness absence management, workplace adjustments, or fitness for work assessments.

Assessment

During the consultation, our specialist occupational health practitioner will assess the employee’s health condition and its impact on their work. This remote approach allows for quick, flexible, and accessible support.

Recommendations

Following the assessment, we provide a detailed, impartial report with actionable recommendations for both the employer and employee. This may include suggested workplace adjustments, phased return-to-work plans, or further medical evaluations if necessary.

Support

Our team is readily available to support employers & employees with follow-ups, ensuring the successful implementation of recommendations and the sustained wellbeing of employees.
