What Is a Standard Referral?
A Standard Referral is our core Occupational Health service. It allows Managers to refer Employees for a telephone or video consultation with either a Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner or a qualified Occupational Health Physician, depending on the needs of the case.
This service is ideal for:
General sickness absence concerns
Return-to-work assessments
Fitness-for-work evaluations
Workplace adjustment recommendations
Ongoing health concerns affecting performance
The aim is to provide a comprehensive assessment and report to support the Employees’ health, workplace integration, and overall productivity.
Our Standard Referral Process
Our process is simple, effective, and designed to keep things moving smoothly:
Referral
Managers can submit a Standard Referral with the Employees’ full consent. This is suitable for routine cases that don’t require same-day or urgent assessment.
Appointment
The consultation, either via telephone or video, is scheduled in the next available standard slot, normally within 5 working days, offering flexibility and convenience.
Full Report
A detailed, impartial report is prepared and released to the employee within 5 working days of the consultation.
