Most of us at some stage in our lives will have experienced pain or movement issues, following an injury, after surgery, or simply due to the demands of our daily routine. It can be an incredibly frustrating time as it not just impacts on what we can personally do day-to-day, but it can also affect our work and home life, and not to mention those close to us.
With over 30 million working days lost in the UK each year due to musculoskeletal issues, injuries or pain involving bones, muscles and joints, and with almost one third of the UK population suffering with a musculoskeletal problem, it is clear that a lot of Employers need support in keeping their workforce healthy to perform their role.
Knowing how effective physiotherapy is in restoring mobility, decreasing pain, and improving function to help deal with these musculoskeletal problems, we want to make sure the physiotherapy we offer to our clients is the highest quality and easily accessible.
This is why we have partnered with a large healthcare organisation to deliver the best physiotherapy service available, and we are incredibly excited to be the first Occupational Health company in the country to be able to offer this incredible service.
How does it work?
This isn’t your typical physiotherapy set up. Whereas traditional models require regular clinic visits around rigid schedules, often within work time, this solution combines the best advanced technology and human expertise available.
- The Employee initially attends a consultation with one of our Specialist Occupational Health Clinicians, where if they deem it appropriate, will recommend that they receive physiotherapy input. Once funding has been approved by the Employer, the Employee will then be referred for physiotherapy.
- Following an initial virtual assessment with a qualified Physiotherapist to determine suitability for the service, Employees are then enrolled into the physiotherapy programme.
- They are prescribed a custom rehabilitation programme from the Physiotherapist based on their injury and function and provided with a custom tablet sent directly to their home.
- This tablet, which has a specialised built-in camera, displays the exercise the Employee needs to perform, and can track how well they are performing this exercise. The tablet can then provide real-time feedback during every session with prompts on whether they are performing the exercise well, or any coaching tips they may need to improve how it is completed.
- Once the session has been completed, and the tablet has tracked their compliance against the prescribed exercise programme, it will log this progress onto the Employee’s profile. The Employee can also input any pain they felt during the session, along with a difficulty rating of performing these exercises.
- With this information, the Physiotherapist can adjust any element of the exercise programme accordingly so that the exercise programme aligns with the Employee’s current ability. Perhaps they are struggling with a specific exercise due to strength or mobility, the Physiotherapist will then be able to assign a more appropriate exercise in its place ready for the next session. The is an ongoing process throughout the Employee’s time on the programme and the Physiotherapist will connect with users on average three times in a week.
Even in-between sessions the Employee can contact the Physiotherapist with any updates they feel is relevant, and the Physiotherapist can then adjust the exercise programme ready for the Employee’s next session.
All the session details, including pain scores and performance, are all recorded on an app which you can review at any time.
Each Employee benefits from three months full access to the physiotherapy programme, designed to help Employees steadily more toward lasting relief.
What makes this service different?
This technology makes physiotherapy easy and convenient, while the team of physiotherapists provide the expertise and human connection your Employees need.

Your Employees will be able to complete their physiotherapy from the convenience of their own home. No more time wasted driving to a clinic, sitting around in a waiting room and disrupting the working day tasks.
On top of all this, during the three-month access to the exercise programme sessions and Physiotherapist, your Employee will also have access to an extensive library of educational videos and articles to help them understand more about the injury and their general health and wellbeing. Ensuring a true holistic approach to health and recovery is achieved.
